RESOLUTION NO. 17-2007
AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE
DANVILLE FINE ARTS FAIRE ON JUNE 23 AND 24, 2007
WHEREAS, the Danville Fine Arts Faire is an annual event sponsored by the Danville
Area Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, this event is supported and enjoyed by the residents of Danville and brings
visitors to downtown; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting street closures in
downtown Danville for the Fine Arts Faire; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure the safety of the participants, it is necessary to close
streets for the event (Exhibit 1); and
WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce has requested an exemption from Danville
Ordinance No. 96-10 in order to allow consumption of alcohol at this event; and
WHEREAS, this event is a daytime family event with no history of alcohol-related
incidents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that the following streets will be closed
between 2:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, and 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2007, for the
purpose of conducting the Danville Fine Arts Faire:
1. Hartz Avenue between Diablo Road and Hartz Way;
2. Prospect A venue between Front Street and Clocktower Parking Lot entrance;
3. Church Street between Hartz Avenue and Railroad A venue; and
4. School Street between Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue; and, be it further
RESOLVED that the Danville Town Council hereby authorizes the consumption of
alcohol at this event in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 96-10, during
the hours oflO:OO a.m. to 6:00 p.m. within the approved street closures.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on March 20,2007, by
the following vote:
