HomeMy WebLinkAbout016-07 RESOLUTION NO. 16-2007 AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE DEVIL MOUNTAIN RUN ON MAY 6, 2007 WHEREAS, the Devil Mountain Run is an event sponsored by Oakland Children's Hospital; and WHEREAS, this event is supported and enjoyed by the residents of Danville and brings visitors to the Town; and WHEREAS, in order to ensure the safety of the participants, it is necessary to close streets for the event (Exhibit 1); now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the following streets will be closed on Sunday, May 6, 2007, for the purpose of conducting the Devil Mountain Run: For both the 5K and 10K courses 1. Between 6:30 a.m. and 8:15 a.m., closure of Railroad Avenue between Prospect Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard; 2. Between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., closure of Hartz Avenue/San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Diablo Road and Sycamore Valley Road; For the 5K course only 3. Between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., closure of Prospect between Railroad Avenue and Quinterra and traffic control on Hartz A venue/Danville Boulevard between Diablo Road and Wayne Avenue, on Wayne Avenue between Danville Boulevard and Iron Horse Trail, and at the intersections of Iron Horse Trail and Hartford Road, Del Amigo Road, Love Lane, Linda Mesa Avenue, and Prospect Avenue; and .., For the 10K course only 4. Between 7:45 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., closure of northbound lane(s) of San Ramon Valley Boulevard between Greenbrook Drive and Sycamore Valley Road; and 5. Between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., closure of Greenbrook Drive between San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Camino Ramon and traffic control at the intersections of Fostoria Way and Camino Ramon and at Iron Horse Trail and Greenbrook Drive, EI Capitan Drive, Paraiso Drive, and Sycamore Valley Road. Hartz (runners have entire road n begin merging into southbound curblane at Linda Mesa,) Note: 5K runners will be in coned southbound curblane when they cross Railroad Ave,- will maintain northbound traffic only from Railroa to EI Portal n detouring southbound traffic at EIPortal. 8:00-8:30 AM Continue North on HartzlDanville Blvd, (westmost -- southbound curblane) to Waym Ave. 8:05c8:30 AM West on Wayne Ave. (southmost curblane) to Iron Horse Trail 8:30-9:00 AM South on Iron HQrse Trail to Finish behind Andronico's (crossing Hartford -Amigo Rd. .
