HomeMy WebLinkAbout129-06 RESOLUTION NO. 129-2006 SUPPORTING THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY'S PROPOSED NOVEMBER 7, 2006 URBAN LIMIT LINE BALLOT MEASURE WHEREAS, the passage of Measure J, a 25-year extension of Contra Costa's l/2-cent transportation sales tax, also continues the Growth Management Program as a commitment to protecting the public's transportation investments; and WHEREAS, the Measure J Growth Management Program requires that each jurisdiction in Contra Costa comply with a local "voter approved Urban Limit Line (ULL)" before that jurisdiction would be eligible to receive its 18% return-to-source funds or the 5% Transportation for Livable Communities (TLC) funds; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors has placed a Measure on the November 2006 ballot to ask voters to adopt an Urban Limit Line ("County ULL"); WHEREAS, passage of the County ULL, with majority voter support, would allow the Town of Danville to be in compliance with Measure J Growth Management Program" voter approved ULL" provision; and WHEREAS, the boundaries of County ULL is consistent with the Town's planning areas; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council support the Contra Costa County's November 7, 2006 Urban Limit Line Ballot Measure.
