RESOLUTION NO. 119-2006
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
AMENDMENT WITH THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO
ADDRESS TRANSFER AND REPLACEMENT OF SWORN PERSONNEL
ASSIGNED TO MOTORCYCLE UNITS
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville contracts for police services with the Contra Costa
County Sheriff's Office (CCCSO); and
WHEREAS, the CCCSO has requested an amendment to the "Contract for Law
Enforcement Services" requesting that the Town not request the transfer of a motorcycle
officer from Danville back to the CCCSO, who is on disability leave or light duty as a result
of a job related accident or injury resulting from or related to the officer's motorcycle
assignment; and
WHEREAS, the Town agrees to assume responsibility for payment of a motorcycle officer
who is on disability leave or light duty as a result of a job related accident or injury
resulting from or related to the officer's motorcycle assignment, for recovery / rehabilitation
time allotted under California Labor Code Section 4850, for a maximum period of two
calendar years from the date of the injury; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council does hereby authorize the Town Manager to
execute the contract amendment with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, attached
hereto as Exhibit 1, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk.
