RESOLUTION NO. 46-2006
AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE SPEED HUMPS AND SPEED LUMPS
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, CIP NO. C-305
WHEREAS, the Town solicited Request for Proposals (RFPs) from qualified paving
contractors for construction services related to the installation of speed humps and speed
lumps in the Town of Danville as part of implementation of the Neighborhood Traffic
Management Program (NTMP), CIP No. C-305; and
WHEREAS, this is a Capital Improvement Project with funds being appropriated by the
CIP General Purpose Revenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 17th day of April, 2006,
publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is MCE Corporation of Dublin, CA, and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the speed
humps and speed lumps construction services, Contract No. C-305, to MCE Corporation of
Dublin, CA; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a one year written contract agreement with
an optional one-year extension with MCE Corporation per proposed unit prices for work in
connection with the installation of speed humps and speed lumps on public roadways in
the Town of Danville, Contract No. C-305, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk,
together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such
changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town hereunder, and to receive
and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to
attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial
Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101.
(Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to
journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of
such findings.)
