HomeMy WebLinkAbout056-05RESOLUTION NO. 56-2005 AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION, AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH WILSEY HAM FOR THE CLOCK TOWER PARKING LOT RENOVATION, PROJECT A-413 WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved a call for bids for the Clock Tower Parking Lot Renovation, Project A-413 via Resolution No. 35-2005; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 26th day of May, 2005, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the responsible low bidder is Grade Tech Inc. of San Ramon, California, and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a construction contract for the project to said firm; and WHEREAS, an appropriation of funds from General Purpose Revenue is needed to supplement the funds previously appropriated in the Town's 5-Year Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, this project is Categorically Exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act, Section 15302, Class 2; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the construction contract for the Clock Tower Parking Lot Renovation, Project A-413 to Grade Tech Inc. of San Ramon, California; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Grade Tech Inc. for $783,813.50 plus a 10% contingency of $78,381.35 for a total of $862,194.85 for work in connection with the Clock Tower Parking Lot Renovation, Project A-413, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this Resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.); and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an additional appropriation from the General Purpose Revenue account of $400,695 be made to fully fund the project; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, an amendment to the contract with Wilsey Ham in the amount of $31,462 for additional design services associated with the project.
