WHEREAS, provision of adequate cemetery space is a necessary component of community
infrastructure planning consistent with Goal 11 of the Danville 2010 General Plan (Civic
and Community Facilities); and
WHEREAS, Danville currently has no available cemetery space within the Town limits,
requiring Town residents to purchase cemetery space in other communities when such

Pleasanton and Livermore, in a Series of meetings over the last two years to discuss the
common need for added cemetery space to serve the Tri-Valley area; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Creekside Memorial Park project was presented to the five Tri-
Valley Cities at the November 2004 Tri-Valley Council meeting; and
WHEREAS, on April 19, 2005, the Danville Town Council heard an updated presentation
generally describing the proposed Creekside Memorial Park project and its community
benefits; and
WHEREAS, the Creekside Memorial Park can be developed as a park-like facility, in a
location convenient and proximate to the Town, in order to better meet resident needs and
to help satisfy the existing need for additional burial space; and
WHEREAS, the development of Creekside Memorial Park is consistent with the
agricultural character of the Tassajara Valley, and as presented, is expected to have
minimal impacts upon cumulative traffic growth within the Tri-Valley and minimal
demand for other services; and
WHEREAS, the 212.6+ acre proposed project site is situated in unincorporated Contra
Costa County on APN 223-020-005 and 223-020-007 located on Camino Tassajara near the
