AUTHORIZING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR PURCHASE OF A ONE-
ACRE PARCEL (CONTRA COSTA CO. A.P.N. 215-090-034) FROM CENTRAL
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SANITARY DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville owns and operates a municipal maintenance facility (the
Town Service Center) located at 1000 Shurburne Hills Road; and
WHEREAS, Town Maintenance operations have expanded between 1990 and 2005 as the
Town has grown, and the number of parks and facilities, and the total acreage being
maintained has increased; and
WHEREAS, the need for outdoor storage space, and staging space to accommodate the
Town's various public works has grown considerably; and
WHEREAS, the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District owns the one-acre parcel known as
Contra Costa County Assessor's Parcel Number 215-090-034, which parcel is contiguous to,
and accessed via the Town Service Center; and
WHEREAS, purchase of the subject property is consistent with the Town's General Plan,
Danville Planning Commission Resolution No. 90-17, granting a Land Use Permit for the
site, and would be in the best interest of the Town of Danville; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council accepts title to COntra Costa County
Assessor's Parcel No. 215-090-034 and hereby appropriates $600,000 from the Capital
Improvement Program Fund, including $360,000 from CIP Project No. A-325 and $240,000
from the General Purpose Revenue Account, to be used for the purchase; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town Manager is hereby authorized to execute a purchase
agreement and all other documents necessary to complete the purchase.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on February 1, 2005, by
the following vote:
