HomeMy WebLinkAbout078-04RESOLUTION NO. 78-2004 AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE LIGHTED CROSSWALK WARNING SYSTEM INSTALLATION AT RASSANI DRIVE AND PARKHAVEN DRIVE AS PART OF THE CAMINO TASSAJARA CIRCULATION IMPROVEMENTS, CONTRACT NO. C-454A WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the lighted crosswalk warning system installation, Contract No. C-454A; and WHEREAS, this is a Capital Improvement Project with funds being appropriated by the Measure C Return to Source funds; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 30th day of June, 2004, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Richard A. Heaps Electrical Contractor, Inc. of Sacramento, California and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the lighted crosswalk warning system installation, Contract No. C-454A, to Richard A. Heaps Electrical Contractor, Inc. of Sacramento, California; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Richard A. Heaps Electrical Contractor, Inc. for $127,623 plus a 10 % construction contingency of $12,762 for a total of $140,385 for work in connection with the lighted crosswalk warning system installation, Contract No. C-454A, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
