AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT
SYCAMORE VALLEY ROAD AND TUNBRIDGE ROAD, CONTRACT NO. C-044B
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the traffic signal
installation at Sycamore Valley Road and Tunbridge Road, Contract No. C-044B; and
WHEREAS, this is a Capital Improvement Project with funds being appropriated by the
Tassajara Area Traffic Impact Fee; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 19~h day of February,
2004, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the apparent low bid (Dan Electric) was found to be non-responsive. The bid
did not disclose all subcontractors as required by the Public Contracts Code and the
general contractor is not licensed to perform certain necessary work; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bidder is W. Bradley Electric of Novato, California and
the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the traffic
signal installation at Sycamore Valley Road and Tunbridge Road, Contract No. C-044B, to
W. Bradley Electric of Novato, California; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with W. Bradley Electric
for $143,500 plus a 10% construction contingency of $14,350 for a total of $157,850 for work
in connection with the signal installation at Sycamore Valley Road and Tunbridge Road,
Contract No. C-044B, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes
as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially
increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in
connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto
the official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial
Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101.
(Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to
journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of
such findings.).
