HomeMy WebLinkAbout005-04 RESOLUTION NO. 5-2004 APPROVING CALL FOR BIDS FOR THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SYCAMORE VALLEY ROAD AND TUNBRIDGE ROAD, CONTRACT NO. C-044 WHEREAS, the Town has a project in the current Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to signalize the intersection of Sycamore Valley Road and Tunbridge Road when traffic signal requirements are reached; and WHEREAS, traffic counts conducted by the Town have indicated that a traffic signal is warranted at Sycamore Valley Road and Tunbridge Road based on criteria established in the State of California Traffic Manual; and WHEREAS, the new traffic signal, as declared by this Resolution, will enhance traffic and pedestrian safety at the intersection and would reduce the potential for collisions; and WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the traffic signal installation at Sycamore Valley Road and Tunbridge Road have been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended adoption of a resolution for the purpose of calling for bids for the project; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to call for bids for the traffic signal installation at the intersection of Sycamore Valley Road and Tunbridge Road. APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on February 3, 2004, by the following vote: AYES: Arnerich, Doyle, NOES: Stepper ABSTAINED: None ABSENT: None Andersen, Shimansky MAYOR APPROVED AS TO FORM: CITY ATTORNEY CITY CLERK
