HomeMy WebLinkAbout118-03RESOLUTION NO. 118-2003 AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A FLASHING BEACON WARNING SYSTEM AT DIABLO ROAD AND CLYDESDALE DRIVE, CONTRACT NO. C-421 WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the installation of a flashing beacon warning system at Diablo Road and Clydesdale Drive, Contract No. C-421; and WHEREAS, this is a Capital Improvement Project with funds being appropriated by the Measure C Return to Source funds; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 6th day of November, 2003, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Continental Electric of Pinole, California and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the installation of a flashing beacon warning system at Diablo Road and Clydesdale Drive, Contract No. C-421, to Continental Electric of Pinole, California; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Continental Electric for $28,269 plus a 15% construction contingency of $4,240 for a total of $32,509 for work in connection with the installation of a flashing beacon warning system at Diablo Road and Clydesdale Drive, Contract No. C-421, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.); and, be it further APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on November 18, 2003, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: None ABSTAINED: None ABSENT: None Shimansky, Arnerich, Andersen, Doyle, Stepper /~.~.._.PPROVED AS TO FORM: CITY ATTORNEY ATTEST: CITY CLERK PAGE 2 OF RESOLUTION NO. 118-2003
