AMENDING THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT AND
ADJUSTING COMPENSATION OF CITY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, on August 1, 1996, the Town of Danville entered into a Professional
Services Agreement with Robert B. Ewing relating to his services as City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that Robert B. Ewing will be considered for a
performance based increase in compensation once a year, with any change in
compensation to be effective on the mmiversary date of the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has evaluated the City Attorney's performance
over the past year and has determined that Robert B. Ewing has performed his duties in
a diligent, professional and highly satisfactory manner; and
WHEREAS, based upon this evaluation, the Town Council has determined to increase
the compensation set forth in the Agreement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the compensation level of the City
Attorney is hereby adjusted to provide for a 6% increase in salary, 3% of which shall be
used to fund an education savings plan to be selected by the Attorney; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, the
Amended Employment Agreement with Robert B. Ewing in the form as lodged with the
City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter become necessary, provided
that such changes do not materially increase the obligations of the Town.
