' AMENDING PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 2-11 OF THE
DANVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE PROVIDING FOR AN ALTERNATE MEMBER OF
THE TOWN OF DANVILLE HERITAGE RESOURCE COMMISSION
The Danville Town Council does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2-11.1 of the Danville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read
· as folloWs:
2-11.1 Creation of Heritage Resource Commission. A Heritage Resource
Commission ("HRC') of the Town of Danville is established. The HRC consists of
seven regular members and, at the discretion of the Town Council, one alternate. Any
alternate member of the HRC shall attend all meetings of the Commission. If a regular
member of the HRC is absent or required to abstain from all or any part of an HRC
meeting, the alternate member shall participate in place of the absent member, with all
rights and privileges of a regular member, including the authority to vote on matters
before the HRC.
SECTION 2. Section 2-11.3 of the Danville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
2-11.3 Term of Office. The term of office of each member of the commission is four (4)
years unless otherwise determined by the Council. Each member shall serve until their
successor is appointed and qualified.
SECTION 3. CODIFICATION.
Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance shall be codified in the Danville Municipal Code.
SECTION 4. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. The City Clerk shall have
this ordinance published once within 15 (fifteen) days after adoption. This ordinance
shall become effective 30 days after adoption.
The foregoing Ordinance was introduced on November 3, 2004 and approved and
adopted by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting held on November 16, 2004,
by the following vote:

ABSENT: None
