AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A
SYNTHETIC TURF SYSTEM FOR THE SYCAMORE VALLEY ATHLETIC
FIELD RENOVATION PROJECT, CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO.
B-416
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville is currently renovating a significant portion of
the athletic fields at Sycamore Valley Park, including the purchase and
installation of a synthetic turf system for the fields; and
WHEREAS, in response to a call for bids for the purchase and installation of the
artificial turf system, the Town received a total of three bids, which included
technical specifications and requirements and proposed prices; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the procedures adopted by the Town in the project
specifications, the bids were reviewed and evaluated by a panel to determine
compliance with the technical specifications without consideration of price; and
WHEREAS, for the reasons set forth in the attached staff report (which is
incorporated herein by this reference), the panel determined that two of the bids
(AstroPlay and Sportsfield) did not meet the minimum technical requirements
for the project, while the remaining bid (Fieldturf) did meet the minimum
technical requirements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council awards the contract for the
purchase and installation of a synthetic turf system for the Sycamore Valley
Athletic Field Renovation Project, Capital Improvement Project No. B-416, to
Fieldturf and authorizes the Town Manager to execute the contract.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on December
17, 2002, by the following vote:
