APPROVING A CALL FOR BIDS FOR
THE SYCAMORE VALLEY PARK RENOVATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Town evaluates various community facility needs on an ongoing basis in order
to better meet the needs of current Town residents; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council and the Parks and Leisure Services Commission have identified
the need to improve and increase the availability of fields as a significant priority; and
WHEREAS, an opportunity exists at Sycamore Valley Park to increase the field space available
by adding one additional baseball/softball field and one additional soccer/lacrosse field, and
improve field quality by constructing a total of five fields (three baseball/softball and two
soccer/lacrosse) with a synthetic turf surface for use in various youth and adult sports such as
baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse; and
WHEREAS, such an improvement can provide the added benefit enhancing use of the facility,
reducing maintenance costs, and significantly reducing water consumption for irrigation, thereby
furthering the Town's water conservation efforts; and :
WHEREAS, the project (B-416) has been evaluated and prioritized as part of the Town's
comprehensive Five Year Capital Improvement Program, and through this process has been
assigned a high priority; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to call for bids for conslxuction of Sycamore Valley Park Renovation Project.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on September 3, 2002, by the
following vote:
AYES: Arnerich, Doyle, Greenberg, Shim ~j~
