HomeMy WebLinkAbout066-02RESOLUTION NO. 66-2002 AUTHORIZING STREET CLOSURES FOR THE VETERANS' DAY EVENT ON NOVEMBER 11, 2002 WHEREAS, two groups are sponsoring an event honoring veterans of all wars on Monday, November 11, 2002 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; and WHEREAS, this event will include historical military displays; and WHEREAS, the sponsors anticipate attendance of 750 people; and WHEREAS, the sponsors will provide volunteers to assist at the event and three volunteers to monitor three barricade street closures; and WHEREAS, the sponsors will host a commemoration ceremony at the Community Center Town Green; and WHEREAS, the sponsors desire to create a safe pedestrian walkway along Front Street in order to view these various military displays (Exhibit 1); now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that Front Street will be closed between Prospect Avenue and the entrance of the Library/Community Center parking lot on Monday, November 11, 2002, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., for the purpose of conducting the Veterans' Day Event.
