AUTHORIZING CHANGES TO DOWNTOWN PARKING TIME LIMIT ZONES
AND THE ADDITION OF A RIGHT-TURN QUEUE LANE ON FRONT STREET
WHEREAS, the streets named in this resolution are maintained by the Town of Danville; and
WHEREAS, traffic and engineering studies conducted by the Town establish that various downtown
locations require changes in parking time limit zones to maintain the retail business character of the
area; and,
WHEREAS, the Downtown Parking Task Force has recommended changes to downtown parking
time limit zones; and,
WHEREAS, the changes to downtown parking time limit zones, as declared by this resolution, will
allow for parking availability in a reasonable and safe manner; and,
WHEREAS, the implementation of a right-turn queue lane on northbound Front Street at Burger
King will facilitate the orderly movement of traffic in a reasonable and safe manner; and,
WHEREAS, the legal owners of the directly-affected parcels have requested changes to parking time
limit zones; and,
WHEREAS, implementation of changes to downtown parking time limit zones will result in a
contiguous and logical parking plan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that pursuant to Chapter VII of the Town of Danville
Municipal Code, changes to downtown parking time limit zones shall be made at the locations listed
in Exhibit 1.
