HomeMy WebLinkAbout105-01RESOLUTION NO. 105-2001 APPROVING A CALL FOR BIDS FOR THE SAN RAMON VALLEY BOULEVARD TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATIONS, CONTRACT NO. C-346 WHEREAS, the Town has a project in the current Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to construct traffic signal improvements at the intersections of San Ramon Valley Boulevard/Sycamore Valley Road and San Ramon Valley Boulevard/Livery-Mercantile Entrance; and WHEREAS, traffic monitoring conducted by the Town has indicated that stop bar detector loops are needed on San Ramon Valley Boulevard to improve traffic operations; and WHEREAS, emergency vehicle preemption equipment is needed to better facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles through the intersections, as declared by this resolution, will improve intersection capacity and enhance traffic safety at the intersection and would reduce the level of congestion; and WHEREAS, internally illuminated street name signs on signal mast arms are needed to improve visibility of the streets to the motorists in agreement with Town standards; and WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the San Ramon Valley Boulevard traffic signal modifications have been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended adoption of a resolution for the purpose of calling for bids for the project; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to call for bids for the San Ramon Valley Boulevard traffic signal modifications.
