APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL PARK FUND MONIES AND AWARDING
CONTRACT FOR THE DANVILLE SOUTH PARK PLAY AREA RENOVATION,
PROJECT NO. B-278
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved this project in the 1997/98-2000/01 Capital
Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for Danville South Park Play
Area Renovation; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the Town of Danville did, in open session on the 22nd day of
February 2001, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the bids received exceed the project appropriation and the Parks and Leisure
Services Commission recommends appropriating additional Park Fund monies; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is DK Environmental of Martinez, and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said finn; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that $8,178 shall be transferred from Project No. B-107, Parkwide Access
Improvements and $40,000 transferred from Project No. B-101, Park and Recreation Facilities
Capital Recovery, and appropriating $4,400 from the Park Fund balance to Project No. B-278
Danville South Play Area Renovation; and; be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the Danville
South Park Play Area Renovation, Project No. B-278 to DK Environmental of Martinez; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with DK Environmental of
Martinez for $94,142 plus a 10% construction contingency of $9,414 for a total of $103,556 for
work in connection with the Danville South Park Play Area Renovation Project No. B-278, in
the form lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined
necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town
thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is
hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen is made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)

following vote:
