AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATION AT
CROW CANYON ROAD AND CENTER WAY, FEDERAL AID
PROJECT NO. STPLHG-5434 (008)
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the traffic signal
modification at Crow Canyon Road and Center Way/Center Court, Federal Aid Project No.
STPLHG-5434 (008); and
WHEREAS, this is a Federal Aid Project with project costs being 100% reimbursable by the
federal government; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 9th day of November, 2000,
publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is Continental Electric of Pinole and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the traffi6
signal modification at Crow Canyon Road and Center Way/Center Court, Federal Aid Project No.
STPLHG-5434 (008), to Continental Elecmc of Pinole; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Continental Electric for
$38,912 plus a 15% construction contingency of $5,837 for a total of $44,749 for work in
connection with the signal modification at Crow Canyon Road and Center Way/Center Court,
Federal Aid Project No. STPLHG-5434 (008), in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together
with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not
materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds
in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the
official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to joumeymen be made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.).
