AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
OAK HILL PARK POND ALGAE CONTROL IMPROV1VIENTS,
CONTRACT NOS. A-304 AND B-287
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved these projects in the 1997/98-2000/01
Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Oak Hill Park Pond
Algae Control improvements, Contract Nos. A-304 and B-287 on September 5, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy City Clerk of the Town of Danville did, in open session on the 5th day
of October, 2000, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder is Aquatic Environments, Inc. of Danville,
California, and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said
firm; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized
to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Aquatic Environments, Inc. of
Danville, California, for $54,610.35 plus a 15% contingency of $8,192 for a total of $62,802
($30,000 from A-304 and $32,802 from B-287) for work in connection with the Oak Hill Park
Pond Algae Control Improvements, in the form lodged with the City Clerk, together with such
changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially
increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in
connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same affLx thereto the official
seal of the Town; and; be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeships Standards. P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a f'mding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen is made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
