HomeMy WebLinkAbout094-00 RESOLUTION NOo 94-2000 AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE TOWN OF DANVILLE OVERLAY PROJECT 2000, FEDERAL AID PROJECT NOo STPL-5434 (010) WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Town of Danville Overlay Project 2000, Federal Aid Project No. STPL-5434 (010); and WHEREAS, this is a Federal Aid Project with project costs being shared by the federal government and the Town of Danville; and WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has appropriated funding for the Town's share of the project costs; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 6th day of July, 2000, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Redgwick Construction of Hayward and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the Town of Danville Overlay Project 2000, Federal Aid Project No. STPL-5434 (010), to Redgwick Construction of Hayward; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Redgwick Construction for $1,131,446.40 plus a 10% construction contingency of $113, 144.64 for a total of $1,244, 591 for work in connection with the Town of Danville Ove~ay Project 2000, Federal Aid Project No. STPL-5434 (010), in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to joumeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.); and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an appropriation be made in the amount of $333,220 to provide sufficient funds to cover project costs.
