SPECIFYING BALLOT WORDING AND PROVIDING FOR THE FILING OF
BALLOT ARGUMENTS AND REBUTTAL ARGUMENTS
FOR THE DANVILLE PUBLIC PLANNING INITIATIVE BEING
SUBMITTED TO THE VOTERS ON NOVEMBER 7, 2000
WHEREAS, on May 18, 1999, the Danville Town Council accepted the City Clerk's
certification of the Danville Public Planning Initiative; and
WHEREAS, proponents of the Danville Public Planning Initiative obtained sufficient signatures
to qualify for the November 7, 2000 ballot and the Town Council must take necessary actions
related to holding an election; and
WHEREAS, those actions include specifying ballot wording for the initiative, authorizing the
City Attorney to draft an impartial analysis of the measure, and authorizing the City Clerk to
receive ballot arguments and rebuttals to those arguments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the ballot wording to be submitted to the
voters on November 7, 2000, shall read as follows: "Shall the people of the Town of Danville
enact an initiative ordinance known as the Danville Public Planning Initiative that would amend
the Town's General Plan to create an Urban Growth Boundary and require voter approval for
specified land use decisions?" Now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council directs the City Attorney to draft an impartial
analysis of the Danville Public Planning Initiative; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall receive ballot arguments for the Danville Public Planning
Initiative not exceeding 300 words in length by 5:00 p.m. on August 15; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall receive rebuttal arguments for the Danville Public
Planning Initiative not exceeding 250 words in length by 5:00 p.m. on August 25.

by the following vote:
