HomeMy WebLinkAbout091-00RESOLUTION NO. 91-2000 REQUESTING THAT THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AUTHORIZE THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY CLERK ELECTIONS DEPARTMENT TO ADMINISTER THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 2000 WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Elections Department has traditionally administered Danville's Municipal Elections; and WHEREAS, this is currently the most ~scally prudent option for the Town; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to call an election for the purpose of electing three members to the Town Council for the term of four years; and, WHEREAS, on May 18, 1999, the Danville Town Council accepted the City Clerk's certification of the Danville Public Planning Initiative; and WHEREAS, proponents of the Danville Public Planning Initiative obtained sufficient signatures to qualify for the November 7, 2000 ballot; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County is hereby requested to direct the ConIra Costa County Clerk Elections Department to conduct Danville's Municipal Election on November 7, 2000, and conduct the official canvass of the ballot; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council agrees to compensate the Contra Costa County Clerk Elections Department for expenses incurred on behalf of the Town of Danville to conduct the election.
