AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE FREITAS
ROAD/TRAIL BRIDGE PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. B-211
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Freitas Road/Trail
Bridge project; and
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has previously appropriated funding for the project; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 4th day of May, 2000,
publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is River City Constructors of Benicia and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the Freitas
Road/Trail Bridge to River City Constructors of Benloin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with River City Constructors for
$185,750 plus a 10% construction contingency of $18,575 for a total of $204,325 for work in
connection with the Freitas RoadsTrail Bridge, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together
with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not
materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds
in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the
official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that an appropriation be made in the amount of
$61,500 from the TDA Grant and $34,850 from Measure C to provide sufficient funds to cover
project costs; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)

following vote:
