APPROVING CALL FOR BIDS FOR DIABLO VISTA PARK SYNTHETIC TURF
SOCCER FIELD RENOVATION, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR A DEPOSIT
ON THE PURCHASE OF THE FIELD SURFACE
WHEREAS, the soccer field at Diablo Vista Park receives year-round use; and
WHEREAS, the existing grass field has not provided a satisfactory year-round, all weather
surface, and has posed unique maintenance problems and costs due to soils and climatological
conditions; and
WHEREAS, the an artificial turf playing field will best meet the needs of the Mustang Soccer
League and community by allowing for increased use of the field and reducing long-time
maintenance costs; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure completion of the project on schedule, a deposit is required for
the purchase of the synthetic turf; and
WHEREAS, Mustang Soccer Club has indicated a willingness to partner with the Town and
contribute one third of the cost of the project; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to call for bids for construction of Diablo Vista Park synthetic turf field renovation; and,
be it further
RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council to appropriate $119,543 from the Sycamore Valley
Benefit District Fund as a thirty percent deposit on the Fieldturf field surface; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Fieldturf for a thirty percent
deposit on the synthetic turf for $119,543, in the form lodged with the City Clerk, together with
such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially
increase the obligations to the Town thereunder.
