HomeMy WebLinkAbout052-00 RESOLUTION NO. 52-2000 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE MISCELLANEOUS CONCRETE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Miscellaneous Concrete Improvement Project which includes concrete improvements on Bobbie Court, CIP No. A-330; Camino Ramon, CIP No. C-352; and the Greenbrook Drive area, CIP No~ A-064; and WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has previously appropriated funding for the project; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 6th day of April, 2000, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is George Bianchi Construction of San Jose and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the Miscellaneous Concrete Improvement Project to George Bianchi Construction of San Jose; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with George Bianchi Construction for $162,656 plus a 6% construction contingency of $9,759 for a total of $172,415 for work in connection with the Miscellaneous Concrete Improvements Project in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to joumeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.).
