AWARDING CONTRACT FOR DIABLO VISTA PARK ENTRY SIGN
(CONTRACT NO. B-203)
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the Diablo Vista Park Phase II improvements
project in the 1992/93 through 1996/97 Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, the park entry sign was included as a component of the Phase II improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the Town of Danville did, in open session on the 2nd day of
March, 2000, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder is Biland Construction Inc., of Walnut Creek,
Califomia, and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said
firm; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized
to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Biland Construction Inc., for $8,715,
plus a contingency of $1,307 for a total of $10,022 for work in connection with the Diablo Vista
Park Entry Sign project, in the form lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as
may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the
obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith,
and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeships Standards. P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen is made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
