HomeMy WebLinkAbout031-00RESOLUTION NO. 31-2000 AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE IRON HORSE TRAIL CROSSING AT SAN RAMON VALLEY BOULEVARD, CONTRACT NO. C-323 WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Iron Horse Trail Crossing at San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Contract No. C-323; and WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has previously appropriated funding for the project; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 9th day of March, 2000, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Golden Bay Construction of San Carlos and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the Iron Horse Trail Crossing at San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Contract No. C-323, to Golden Bay Construction of San Carlos; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Golden Bay Construction for $169,338 plus a 12% construction contingency of $20,321 for a total of $189,659 for work in connection with the Iron Horse Trail Crossing at San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Contract No. C-323, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to joumeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.); and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an appropriation be made in the amount of $71,101 from the TFCA/TDA Grant and $31,626 from the Developer Contribution to provide sufficient funds to cover project costs.
