HomeMy WebLinkAbout027-00RESOLUTION NO. 27-2000 ACCEPTING FUNDS FROM EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR SYCAMORE VALLEY PARK GROUP PICNIC AREA LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS (CONTRACT NO. B-292) WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved this project in the 1996/97-2000/01 Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, East Bay Regional Park District has previously appropriated $55,000 for their portion of the work; and WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Sycamore Valley Park Group Picnic Area Landscape Improvements (Contract No. B-292) on June 15, 1999; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the Town of Danville did, in open session on the 1st day of February, 2000, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder is Cleary Brothers Landscape Construction Inc., of Danville, California, and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council hereby accepts $55,000 for construction of an equestrian staging area as part of Sycamore Valley Park Group Picnic Area Landscape Improvements from East Bay Regional Park District; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that $55,000 be appropriated for Contract No. B- 292; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Cleary Brothers Landscape Construction Inc., for $128,132, plus a 13% contingency of $16,657 for a total of $144,789 for work in connection with the Sycamore Valley Park Group Picnic Area Landscape Improvement project, in the form lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerkis hereby directed to attest same affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and; be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeships Standards. (Note: Should a f'mding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen is made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
