APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IRON HORSE
TRAIL REALIGNMENT AT SYCAMORE VALLEY ROAD,
CONTRACT NO. C-312
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Iron Horse Trail
Realignment at Sycamore Valley Road; and
WHEREAS, partial funds have been previously appropriated for the project and an additional
$8,530 from East Bay Regional park District needs to be appropriated to construct the project;
and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 26th day of August, 1999,
publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is Gradetech of Livermore and the City Engineer has recommended
awarding a contract for the project to said firm; and
WHEREAS, access rights necessary for construction of this project are being acquired from the
County and East Bay Regional Park District; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Town Council that $8,530 be appropriated for Contract No. C-312, in
addition to the $6,470 previously appropriated in the Town' s Capital Improvement Program, for
a total appropriation of $15,000 to be reimbursed by East Bay Regional Park District for the
project; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for the Iron Horse
Trail Realignment at Sycamore Valley Road, to Gradetech of Livermore; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Gradetech of Livermore for
$33,650 plus a construction contingency of $4,749 for a total of $38,399 for work in connection
with the Iron Horse Trail Realignment at Sycamore Valley Road, in the form as lodged with the
City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such
changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and
approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same
and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
