HomeMy WebLinkAbout133-99RESOLUTION NO. 133-99 AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR FRONT STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. C-315A, AND THE ROSE STREET/LINDA MESA AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. C-315B WHEREAS, Improvement Improvement the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Front Street Project, Contract No. C-315A, and the Rose Street/Linda Mesa Avenue Project, Contract No. C-315B; and WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has previously appropriated funding for the two projects; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 22nd day of July, 1999, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Golden Bay Construction, Inc. of San Carlos and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for Front Street Improvement Project, Contract No. C-315A, and the Rose Street/Linda Mesa Avenue .Improvement Project, Contract No. C-315B to Golden Bay Construction, Inc. of San Carlos; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Golden Bay Construction, Inc. for $701,989.20 for work in connection with Front Street Improvement Project, Contract No. C-315A, and the Rose Street/Linda Mesa Avenue Improvement Project, Contract No. C-315B, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this Resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to joumeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.); and, be it further RESOLVED, the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an appropriation be made in the amount of $212,655 from the Capital Improvement Program' s General Purpose Revenue Sub-Account to provide sufficient funds to cover project costs.
