AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN CORRESPONDENCE REPRESENTING
THE TOWN COUNCIL'S POSITION ON CURRENT LEGISLATION
WHEREAS, the State Legislature in recem years has significantly impacted local government
revenues; and
WHEREAS, the Town has responded to legislation by writing letters from the Mayor as needed;
and
WHEREAS, prior discussion and establishing a position on state legislative matters by the
Town Council would lend greater weight to the Town' s legislative efforts; and
WHEREAS, approval of the positions outlined in Exhibit 1 will initiate a response on behalf
of the Town Council in support or opposition of specific legislation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Town Council authorizes the Mayor to sign correspondence representing the
Town Council's position on legislation described in Exhibit 1.
APPROVED by the Danville Town Council at a regular meeting on April 6, 1999, by the
following vote:
