HomeMy WebLinkAbout005-99 RESOLUTION NO. 5-99 AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR MISCELLANEOUS STREET IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the miscellaneous street improvements; and WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has appropriated funds for the Street Safety Improvements, Contract No. A-318, the Iron Horse Trail Rest Area at Prospect and Quinterra, Contract No. B-322, and the Maiden Lane Traffic Calming Barrier, Contract No. C-324; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 21 st day of January, 1999, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Carone & Sons of Crockett and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town award the contract for miscellaneous street improvements to Carone & Sons of Crockett; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Carone & Sons for $136,412.10 plus a 10% construction contingency of $13,641.21 for a total of $150,053.31 for work in connection with miscellaneous street improvements, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this Resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to joumeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.); and, be it further RESOLVED, the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an appropriation be made in the amount of $32,053.31 from the Capital Improvement Program's General Purpose Revenue Sub-Account to provide sufficient funds to cover project costs.
