AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE SAN
RAMON VALLEY BOULEVARD MEDIAN MODIFICATIONS FOR PEDESTRIAN
ACCESS, CONTRACT NO. A-313
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the San Ramon Valley
Boulevard median modifications for pedestrian access, Contract No. A-313, on November 17,
1998; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 261h day of January, 1999,
publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is Vanguard Construction of Oakland, and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract for the San
Ramon Valley Boulevard median modifications for pedestrian access to Vanguard Construction
of Oakland; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Vanguard Construction of
Oakland for $21,655 plus a 20% construction contingency of $4,331 for a total of $25,986 for
work in connection with the San Ramon Valley Boulevard median modifications for pedestrian
access, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter
be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the
Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith; and, be it further
RESOLVED, the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal
of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an appropriation be made in the amount of
$6,886 from the Capital Improvement Program's General Purpose Revenue Sub-Account to
provide sufficient funds to cover project costs; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall, within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeship Standards. P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to joumeymen be made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)

following vote:
