APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN
AGREEMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTINMG SERVICES
FOR THE PREPARATION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
REPORT ASSOCIATED WITH THE ELWORTHY
WEST GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT
APPLICATION (SUNCREST HOMES)
WHEREAS, the Town of Danville has received General Plan Amendment (GPA 98-03),
Preliminary Development Plan - Rezoning (PUD 98-04) and Final Development Plan - Major
Subdivision (SD 8190) request by Suncrest Homes on a 458 +/- acre site; and
WHEREAS, the subject site is located on the west side of Highway 680, on the hillside between
Midland Way and Fountain Springs Circle and is further identified as Assessor's Parcel Numbers
208-230-020, 021,030, 03 1,032, 033; and
WHEREAS, the Town's initial review of the proposed development identified potentially
significant environmental impacts to be associated with the project; and
WHEREAS, pursuant with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA), in order to study and disclose all potentially significant environmental impacts
associated with the project, an Environmental Impact Report must be prepared; and
WHEREAS, after soliciting proposals from qualified environmental consulting firms, the Town
desires to enter into a contract for environmental consulting services with the firm EDAW, Inc.
for the purpose of preparation of the Environmental Impact Report; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council authorizes the Danville Town Manager to execute
an agreement with EDAW, Inc. for the preparation of an Environmental Impact Report associated
with the Elworthy West development application; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that $163,000 is appropriated for the cost of preparing the Environmental Impact
Report.
