AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CALMING
DEVICES ON CLOVERBROOK DRIVE BETWEEN PARKHAVEN DRIVE AND
DUNHILL DRIVE, CONTRACT NO. C~326
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council has approved a call for bids; and
WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated for the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program
(NTMP) through the 1997/98 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to cover the cost of the
project; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the installation of traffic calming devices on
Cloverbrook Drive have been reviewed and approved by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the traffic calming devices will be installed consistent with guidelines approved by
the Institute of Transportation Engineers and practices of other California municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the Town did, in open session on November 4, 1998, publicly
open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is Golden Bay Construction, Inc. of San Carlos and the City
Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract for installation
of traffic calming devices on Cloverbrook Drive, Contract No. C-326, to Golden Bay
Construction, Inc.; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Golden Bay Construction,
Inc., for $35, 165 plus a 10% construction contingency of $3,517 for a total of $38,682 for work
in connection with installation of traffic calming devices on Cloverbrook Drive, in the form as
lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary,
provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to
receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to
attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within (5) days of the adoption of this Resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
