AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR JONATHAN
RIDGE DRIVE SLIDE REPAIR, CONTRACT NO. E-001
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the emergency repairs were sent out to bid on an
emergency basis; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 251h day of August, 1998,
publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is GradeTech, Inc. of Livermore, and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; and
WHEREAS, Contra Costa County and FEMA are anticipated participants in the funding of this
project. The Town and County will share the cost (less FEMA) on an equal basis. The shared
cost of the project will include the Town's prior expenditures.
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that $274,620 is hereby appropriated from the
General Purpose Sub-Account of the CIP; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract for the Jonathan
Ridge Drive Slide Repair to GradeTech Inc. of Livermore; and, be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with GradeTech, Inc. of
Livermore for $238,800 plus a 15% construction contingency of $35,820 for a total of $274,620
for work in connection with the Jonathan Ridge Drive Slide Repair in the form as lodged with
the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided
such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive
and approve all bonds in connection therewith; and, be it further
RESOLVED, the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal
of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall, within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of industrial Relations,
Division of Apprenticeship Standards. P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.
