HomeMy WebLinkAbout111-98RESOLUTION NO. 111-98 AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR PAVEMENT OVERLAY AND CAPE SEAL PRO3ECT 1998B, CONTRACT NO. C-306(98B) WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been budgeted to cover the cost of the project; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 9th day of July 1998, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Bruce Carone Grading and Paving Inc. of Concord and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract for Pavement Overlay and Cape Seal Project 1998B to Bruce Carone Grading and Paving Inc. of Concord; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Bruce Carone Grading and Paving Inc. for $388,068.50 plus a 10% construction contingency of $38,806.85 for a total of $426,875.35 for work in connection with Pavement Overlay and Cape Seal Project 1998B, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that $426,875.35 is hereby appropriated from the Capital Improvement Program Pavement Management Sub-Account; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
