HomeMy WebLinkAbout086-98 RESOLUTION NO. 86-98 AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR GREEN VALLEY SCHOOL PARKING LOT, CONTRACT NO. B-317 WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Green Valley School Parking Lot, Contract No. Bo317; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 9th day of June, 1998, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Gradetech, Inc. of Fremont, and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract for the Green Valley School Parking Lot to Gradetech, Inc. of Fremont; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Gradetech, Inc. for $218,799.30 plus a 15% construction contingency of $32,820.00 for a total of $251,619.00 for work in connection with the Green Valley School Parking Lot, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith. The City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an appropriation be made in the amount of $91,619.00 from the State-Local Transportation Partnership Program component of the Northeast Area Roadway Assessment District Fund, providing sufficient funds to cover project costs; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall, within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to jo.urneymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
