HomeMy WebLinkAbout080-98RESOLUTION NO. 80-98 DIRECTING THE TOWN MANAGER TO WORK WITH CONTRA COSTA COUNTY ON AN AGRICULTURAL PRESERVATION AGREEMENT FOR THE TASSAJARA VALLEY WHEREAS, the Tassajara Valley consists of approximately 4,500 acres and extends from the eastern boundary of the Town of Danville to the Alameda County line; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County' s General Plan and zoning ordinance designate the Tassajara Valley as agricultural land; and WHEREAS, the Town of Danville General Plan 2005 identifies the Tassajara Valley as an area of special concem and Policies 2.01-2.03 of the General Plan direct the Town to work jointly with Contra Costa County and the City of San Ramon on a long range plan for the development of the Tassajara Valley; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors have adopted a Board Order directing Supervisor Donna Gerber and County staff to work with the Town and the City of San Ramon to draft an agricultural preservation agreement for the Tassaj ara Valley and to develop a proposal for the relocation of the Urban Limit Line in District 3 as it relates to the Tassajara Valley; and WHEREAS, the Town Council, consistent with the Town of Danville General Plan 2005, wishes to pursue such an agreement in a timely manner; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that the Town Manager is hereby directed to work with Contra Costa County on a draft Agricultural Preservation Agreement for the Tassajara Valley and to return to the Town Council with an agreement, once completed.
