HomeMy WebLinkAbout044-98RESOLUTION NO. 44-98 AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR CAMINO TASSAJARA EMBANKMENT REPAIR, CONTRACT NO. C-309 WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids for the Camino Tassajara Embankment Repair, Contract No. C-309; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 5th day of March, 1998, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is G. Bortolotto of San Carlos, and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract for the Camino Tassajara Embankment Repair to G. Bortolotto of San Carlos; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with G. Bortolotto for $101,930 plus a 10% construction contingency of $10, 193 for a total of $112, 123 for work in connection with the Camino Tassajara Embankment Repair, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith. The City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that an appropriation be made in the amount of $5,223 from the Capital Improvement Program's General Purpose Revenue Account to increase the project contingency to 10%; thereby, providing sufficient funds to cover project costs; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall, within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
