AWARDING CONTRACT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR SAN RAMON
VALLEY BOULEVARD STORM DRAIN REPAIR, CONTRACT NO. A-273
WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved this project in the 1996/97 to 2000/01 Capital
Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available to cover the cost of the project; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of this Town did, in open session on the 23rd day of September,
1997, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder is TGH Pipeline of Larkspur and the City Engineer has
recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that $152,889 be appropriated from the SPCP
account to fund the San Ramon Valley Boulevard Storm Drain Repair and; be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council to authorize a transfer of $15,897.50 from the
SPCP program for deisgn reproduction, inspection and administration costs, for a total amount
of $168,786.50 and; be it further
RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with TGH Pipeline for $138,990
plus a 10% construction contingency of $13,899 for a total of $152,889 for work in connection
with San Ramon Valley Boulevard Storm Drain Repairs, in the form as lodged with the City
Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such
changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and
approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same
and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this resolution,
transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations
Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should
a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town
shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
