HomeMy WebLinkAbout110-97RESOLUTION NO. 110-97 REAFFIRMING COMPLIANCE WITH RESOLUTION NO. 171-92 APPROVING GUIDELINES FOR NAMING PARKS OR DEDICATING FACILITIES, AND SUPPORTING ANY EFFORT MADE BY VETERANS' ORGANIZATIONS TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR JAMES CARDINALE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DANVILLE VETERANS' MEMORIAL HALL VVI-IEREAS, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 171-92 approving guidelines for naming parks or dedicating facilities on November 17, 1992; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 171-92 contains several provisions to be used as guidelines in naming parks or dedicating facilities; among them is a provision discouraging name changes once adopted; and WHEREAS, the Community Center was officially named the "Danville Community Center" by Resolution No. 178-95 on November 21, 1995; and WHEREAS, the Danville Veterans' Memorial Hall has recently been refurbished by a joint project of the Town of Danville, veterans' organizations, the San Ramon Valley Community Services Group, and local businesses and service clubs; and WHEREAS, it is an appropriate time to rededicate the Veterans' Memorial Hall, as it will once again be used as an active social and historic sfructure in the center of downtown Danville; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council that compliance with Resolution No. 171-92 regarding the naming of parks or dedicating facilities is hereby reaffirmed; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the Danville Town Council will support any effort initiated by local veterans' organizations to recognize and honor James Cardinale in conjunction with the Danville Veterans' Memorial Hall.
