HomeMy WebLinkAbout099-97RESOLUTION NO. 99-97 ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS AND MATCHING MONIES FOR THE RESTORATION OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD DEPOT, AND APPROPRIATING SUCH FUNDS TO EXISTING CIP PROJECT A-214, "SOUTHERN PACIFIC DEPOT RENOVATION" WHEREAS, the Town of Danville, as the administering agency applicant in partnership with the Museum of the San Ramon Valley, a California 501 (c)3 public non-profit organization, was awarded a grant from Transportation Enhancement Activities (TEA) program funds in the amount of $276,000 for the rehabilitation of the Danville Southern Pacific Railroad Depot; and WHEREAS, through an agreement with the Town of Danville, the Museum of the San Ramon Valley, a partner in the Towifs TEA program application, has provided the required matching funds in the amount of $35,240; and WHEREAS, East Bay Regional Parks District has provided the Town of Danville with a grant of $50,000 to construct an outdoor restroom at the Depot site along the Iron Horse Trail; and WHEREAS, the Town has an existing CIP Project for Southern Pacific Depot Restoration, CIP A-214; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that the Town hereby accepts grant funds from CalTrans and EBRPD, and matching monies from the Museum of the San Ramon Valley for the purpose of renovating the Southern Pacific Depot, and be it further RESOLVED that the grants and matching funds being accepted are appropriated to the CIP fund, project A-214 for Southern Pacific Depot Renovation.
