HomeMy WebLinkAbout035-97RESOLUTION NO. 35-97 AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR PAVEMENT SLURRY SEAL PROJECT 1997A, CONTRACT NO. C-306(97A) WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids; and WHEREAS, the (]iv] Clerk of this Town did, in (:)pen session on the 13th day of March 1997, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Valley Slurry Seal Company (of West Sacramento and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated to cover the cost of the project; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract for Pavement Slurry Seal Project 1997A, to Valley Slurry Seal Company of West Sacramento; and be it tLrther RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Valley Slurry Seal Company for $247,950.00 plus a 5% construction contingency of $12,398.00 for a total of $260,348.00 fl0r work in connection with Pavement Slurry Seal Project 1997, in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this Resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
