HomeMy WebLinkAbout154-96 RESOLUTION NO. 154-96 AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO CLEAN AND TREAT BRIDGE DECKS AT DIABLO ROAD/SAN RAMON CREEK (CONTRACT NO. A-247) AND SYCAMORE VALLEY ROAD/SAN RAMON CREEK (CONTRACT NO. A-252) WHEREAS, the Danville Town Council approved the call for bids to clean and treat bridge decks at Diablo Road/San Ramon Creek (Contract No. A-247) and Sycamore Valley Road/San Ramon Creek (Contract No. A-252) on September 17, 1996; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated to cover the cost of the project; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk did, in open session on the 22nd day of October 1996, publicly open and read aloud the sealed bids received as required by law; and WHEREAS, the low bidder is Contractor's Chemical of Hayward and the City Engineer has recommended awarding a contract for the project to said firm; now, therefore be it RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town award the contract to clean and treat bridge decks, to Contractor's Chemical of Hayward; and be it further RESOLVED, by the Danville Town Council, that the Town Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town, a written contract with Contractor's Chemical for $23,946 plus a 10% construction contingency of $2,394.60 for a total of $26,340.60 for work in connection with the clean and treat bridge decks at Diablo Road/San Ramon Creek (Contract No. A-247) and Sycamore Valley Road/San Ramon Creek (Contract No. A-252), in the form as lodged with the City Clerk, together with such changes as may hereafter be determined necessary, provided such changes do not materially increase the obligations to the Town thereunder, and to receive and approve all bonds in connection therewith, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest same and affix thereto the official seal of the Town; and, be it further RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall within five (5) days of the adoption of this Resolution, transmit an Extract of Public Works contract award to the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards, P.O. Box 603, San Francisco, CA 94101. (Note: Should a finding of any discrepancy regarding this ratio of apprentices to journeymen be made, the Town shall notify the Division of Apprenticeship Standards of such findings.)
