HomeMy WebLinkAbout132-96RESOLUTION NO. 132-96 APPROPRIATING COPS GRANT FUNDS AND APPROVING SUPPLEMENTAL POLICE FUNDING REQUESTS UNDER AB 3229. WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 3229 was enacted as part of this year's state budget package establishing the Citizen's Option for Public Safety (COPS) program; and WHERFAS, the COPS program provides funding for local police agencies for the purpose of ensuring public safety; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has proposed program enhancements that do not supplant but supplement their crime prevention and law enforcement efforts; and WHEREAS, the Town of Danville has established a Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund as outlined by AB 3229; now, therefore be it RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council to accept COPS grant funds and authorize appropriating the funds allocated by AB 3229; and, be it FURTHER RESOLVED to approve the supplemental police funding requests made by the Chief of Police. APPROVED by the Town Council of the Town of Danville at a Regular Meeting held on October 1, 1996, by the following vote: AYES: Greenberg, NOES: None ABSTAINED: None ABSENT: None Shimansky, Arnerich, Doyle, Waldo ¢ MAYOR APPROVED AS TO FORM: CITY ATTORNEY CITY CLERK
