HomeMy WebLinkAbout096-96RESOLUTION NO. 96-96 IMPLEMENTING THE STANDARDIZED EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SEMS) WITHIN THE TOWN OF DANVILLE WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 8607, the State Office of Emergency Services has established by regulation a Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) which sets forth basic principles and components of emergency management to be used in responding to and managing emergencies involving multiple jurisdictions or multiple agency responses; and WHEREAS, effective December 1, 1996, local agencies included in the Governor's state of emergency proclamation must be in compliance with the SEMS regulations in order to be eligible for state funding of personal costs incurred as the result of lifesaving measures to protect public health, safety and property; and WHEREAS, SEMS regulations are set forth in Chapter 1 (Sections 2400-2450) of Division 2 of Title 19 of the California Code of Regulations; now, therefore be it RESOLVED by the Danville Town Council that the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) shall be utilized as the basis for the Town's disaster planning and training program, and as the management model for responding to emergencies and disasters within Town limits.
